February block

This weekend I have been working on the crazy block for february.  Not sure if it is completely complete or not but I can always add some more embellishments later   I really like the beaded chain stitch which has been one of the recent stitches from Sharon B on pintangle.  I have not been keeping up with them for a while now but have used  the beaded chain, chain cross and up and down feathered buttonhole stitch here none of which I have used before.  I do so like Sharon`s stencils which I bought last year and they have appeared on this block as well   The grey lace is a piece of white I dropped silk paints onto , think it needs a bit of something on it but so far cannot decide so have left it plain.

The bit of pink tatting I am going to add a little ladybird button to when I make the 12 blocks into the wall hanging.

Take care

Beautiful. You are a very good girl, I haven't started mine yet. The block is made, but I am very lazy!

Congrats on a beautiful block. The darker aqua thread adds a lot of definition.

I love how this quilt is coming along, and I am a wee bit envious too. I started my first crazy quilt block in September and it isn't done yet, while you have made a ton of blocks and finished two! I am not a big pink and purple fan. But I love your color scheme. It is really gorgeous.

Another lovely block. The stitches on the polka dot fabric are my favourite!

your stitching looks wonderful! are the stencils like a normal stencil, to stitch through or mark the fabric?

Margaret, the crazy block is so lovely. I am liking this combination of colors very much. I, too, like a bit of embroidery but in recent years have done very little. Too many other things to do, I guess. One question - how did you use stencils on this block?

Margaret such a great block, love what you have done with the spotted fabric .If you think the lace needs something else try some little glass beads
to add some glitter/bling.But I think its BEAUTIFUL as is.

With Annet I also like the crossed cross stitch on the polka dot fabric. And you made a good sample of the beaded chain stitch. Ah, and those little bits of tatting. I have them in my box, too.

Hello again, Margie! Thanks for leaving a comment on my blog. If you're ever interested in learning how to paper piece, here is the link to a really good tutorial: http://www.winnowing.com/ppp.html It's the link on my left sidebar under called "Paper Piecing Tutorial" under Quilting Resources. It's not hard. I use ordinary typing paper and a really short stitch length to make it easier to remove the paper. It sure opens up the door to lots more intricate block patterns.

Still love your February block!
Take care,
