Embroidery friends, Malvern

I am a member of the group Embroidery friends,  it was formed when the Embroiderers Guild updated there web site and decided they would no longer have a members forum so this breakaway group was formed which is open to anyone not just Embroidery Guild members,  just as well as I did not renew my membership last year.   Anyway some of us got together to do a round robin.  There were 10 of us from around the globe and we each choose what we wanted our piece to be based on..  My theme was gardens and I posted a photo of the bird bath I had stitched.  To cut a long story short I received my piece back a couple of weeks ago and I am delighted with what everyone has stitched,  here is a photo

Isn`t it a beautiful piece,  have now to decide what to do with it once I can get the creases ironed out.

Now for a few more photos from the Malvern quilt show

this is to me a cheerful quilt   not sure why but it reminds me of smiley faces

maybe one day I will have mastered applique,   well in my dreams if not on a quilt

love quilts that tell a story  and this one has lots to see.

I would not mind living in one of these cottages

as you can see this one got some awards,  beautiful isn`t it.
   hope you enjoy these

I do hope you didn't iron your lovely embroidery! It's better to damp stretch it if the threads are colourfast. Thanks for sharing these pretty quilts.

And don't you iron it but damp stretch, damp stretch absolutely! I learned that ironing is a no no no go.
Try damp stretching It comes from Karen Ruane.

What a nice piece to get back from your round robin! You could make it into a mini quilt wall hanging, as one option.

It looks like it was a great show, even if you didn't have a chance to linger.

What a pleasant surprise to send out a bird bath and get a whole garden in return! Lovely!
There were some great quilts at Malvern. Is it your (or Cheryls) choice, or were there mainly colourful quilts?

Lovely! And the quilts are fabulous. I hope you get to enjoy your next show without feeling so poorly. I am interested to hear about your Embroidery Friends group. I am very sorry to say after years I finally joined EG last year, but never again. I was so disappointed with the whole process and I consider I totally wasted my money!

There's lots of nostalgia in your lovely garden piece. It reminds me of the embroidered pillow cases of my childhood. Enjoyed the quilt photos.

What beautiful quilts! I especially love the 12 Days of Christmas for quilters. Wow, that one is spectacular.

My first triangle was very intimidating, but I followed the instructions and it turned out not to be so bad after all, except for the major "oops" I managed to undo. The Dear Jane quilt is supposed to be a learning experience, and so far, it has really lived up to that description!

Take care,
