two completed quilts

Here are two more quilts completed.

This is the one done with Jennie Rayment on the create and craft tv channel.  One of the blocks  the celtic knot has been omitted and replaced with a court house steps block as I could not do the fiddly bias for the knot.  The binding has been made form the left over fabrics in the blocks. Unfortunately it was a bit windy when I took this photo.   it is 43" square

This is the back,   as you can see I have quilted each block to suit the block pattern

My second quilt has had a name change,  when we were shown at the Yorkshire MQG how to make this quilt it was called a vomit quilt!   I think the name comes form Katy Jones of I`m a gingermonkey fame but have since found it n a book and it is called steps to the altar which is a much nicer name.   Not sure if I have quilted it enough, will maybe have to add some more but living with it as it is for now.  It is a little smaller than it should be as I pieced all the blocks on my elna little machine which is light enough to take to class  (weather permitting)  it does not have a quarter inch foot so the seams were a bit bigger but as I continued to make all the blocks with the same seam allowance it worked out okay.   It measures 41`" by 55"

the photo was taken indoors as it was raining outside.

Two other little things done this last week,    the hexie block for the BOM challenge this month was candy corn which was new to me and the bee blessed charity block or rather a double block for this month too.

these blocks were made as 2 strip blocks then cut in half diagonally and swapped around, the strips were assorted sizes,   think I might make a scrappy quilt like thus when I have a bag enough supply of scraps.  It had arrived safely in Ireland where a group of ladies meet and put all the blocks together and  make into quilts.

I wonder if anyone else is having problems leaving comments on some blogs.  The blogs I follow that have a comment box that opens in a separate window I have been unable to comment on as the window will not open,  the same goes if I try to pin form these blogs the pinterest window will not open,  this does not happen with the blogs that the comments open up below the blog     if you know what I mean.  if anyone can throw some light on this problem I would be very grateful and if you are wondering why I have not commented you now know.    This is not happening all the time   sometimes it will work for a couple of blogs        modern technology sometimes it is way above my head.

First one with all different shapes coming together in one quilt, it is wonderful. I love both.

Congratulations, Margaret, two quilts done! I am very impressed. :D

I used to have a problem with comments when I used Internet Explorer. Since I switched to Chrome, my problems have disappeared. Chrome is free, so it is no risk to try and see if it works better for you. Good luck!

The vibrancy of the colours in your second quilt is fantastic. I like the first too. Looking forward to seeing your scrappy quilt.
I have also found Chrome better than Internet Explorer to work with, but haven't experienced your particular problem.

Sorry I haven't been on the internet much lately, so I've only just seen that you won a 1st and a 2nd at a local show, many congrats, that's brilliant.
Also, what a wonderful find you had with that quilt top. I'll look forward to seeing that.
A couple of thoughts about your comments problem. I have that happen too, when I read through Bloglovin, but if I go direct to the blog it's OK. It happens with links too, so I do the same thing. Also, I'm not sure which you're using, but I think there are less problems with Chrome than with IE or Firefox. See you tomorrow?

I to have been watching Jenny on C&C she is good. Your Quilt is lovely hope you sent her a picture she will be thrilled. Much prefer your name for the second quilt. If you do not have a 1/4 inch foot try putting a strip of masking tape on your machine 1/4 inch from the neddle and run the edge of your fabric with that.
Your comment box comes up in a different tag I have managed to leave a comment I think. Not sure what I use just cross my fingers and hope things work if they don't pass it to my son to fix.

I love the sampler quilt. Is it coincidence that it is in "suffragette" colours or was it planned that way?

You have two beautiful finishes here. And I think the second one is quilted enough, and you also quilted nicely!
Have you tried to sew the leaf jet?

You have been busy making beautiful things! Blogspot has SO many glitches! I can't ever comment on embedded boxes. Maybe it will clear up in a few days.

First, I've had this problem with leaving comments. I found that most of the time if I minimize the blog screen, the comment page is behind it. Don't know why, but that's what happens to me. Am perplexed by it. Your quilt are lovely! I especially like the second, oh so colorful quilt. Congrats. And thanks for linking to Hexie Weekend so I could see your wonderful eye candy!

Lovely quilts, Margaret, you are on a bit of a roll!
I have been having a problem recently with leaving a comment on some blogs, I just move on and come back to it later, or next day. Even opening some blogs seems to be problem sometimes, and I use Chrome. Technology is wonderdul (when it works)!

Lovely to see some finished quilts, they look wonderful. I've had some glitches with commenting, no idea why.

I have this problem when commenting on bloglovin on blogs that open a new window. In fact it happened on this one, margaret! What I do is right click on the 'leave a comment' link and then click 'open in new window' It works for me. you have been extremely busy The quilts are wonderful!

Well done on more quilt finishes, Margaret. It is quite a process putting a quilt together so you are powering along. I love a scrap quilt and there are so many ideas for them now - keep it up!! I follow blogs in 'Bloglovin' and sometimes these comment boxes won't open and I get a blank page. Go to the X at the top right and click on that and it takes you to the 'real blog page' and you can comment easily. Cheers Di.

Your sampler quilt is very pretty, Margaret. Love the colours you chose! And the scrappy baby quilt is gorgeous, too. What a busy gal you've been! Well done!

Wonderful quilts, dear Margaret. You are so busy. I love the scrappy style you made.

Blogcomments: it is able, you use a popup blocker, so the writingfield does not appear for you.
I use mozilla for blogger, it works best for me. IE, i don't like it and chrome...i did not try it until now.
I hope, your problems will go away.

Greetings
