Ancestral gifts Kaffe Fassett exhibition

Last tuesday I went to the quilt museum in York to see an amazing exhibition.  Kaffe Fassett had chosen 15 quilts from the museum collection and then he created new quilts.  Here are some of them  both the original and his version.  I was so pleased that we were allowed to take photos as usually it is no photo policy at the museum.  I have shown the origonal followed by the modern version,  sorry not too clear as no flash was allowed.

There is going to be a book based on these quilts     I think it will be finding its way into my book collection.  I was a good girl and only bought 2 half metre lengths of his fabric  a bit out of my price range but there were 2 I could not resist.

I seem to be having more blog problems,  I can not comment on blogs that have been put on using iphones,  ipads etc the comment box disappears soon as I click on it   wonder if anyone else is having the same problem.

Wondefull quilts.
A great exhibition.
I don't know, if i understood right. KF makes some antique quilts in new KF fabrics and colours? this would be very interesting.

About your problem, i can not say anything. Only apple or android also?

Greetings
Iris

He certainly knows how to spice up the colour range thank you as I cannot see myself getting up there this year. You only managed to get away with only 2 you were so good.

Thank you so much for all the photos, Margaret! What an interesting exhibit. My favourite is actually the first one, with the contrast of that blue daisy fabric around the border. Which fabrics did you buy?

Thank-you for the guided tour! And the true confession about the fabric buy. Although in this company we're more likely to be shocked that you didn't buy more!

I must say I love his versions - beautiful colours. Although, he usually mixes very, very flowery fabrics - diffiduclt to understand. As to your buying resp. not buying - Margaret - I am the same! Good girl!

Beautiful pictures, Margaret, thanks so much for sharing them with us. I like all the quilts, but I am partial to the vintage quilts. I really like the vintage color schemes.

My blog is updated via computer, though I sometimes answer emails on my phone. I had not heard of this issue, though you are probably not the only one it is happening to. Hopefully they will find a fix soon.

It's so much fun to look at the old and the new. The "old" quilters had just as much creativity and talent as the "new" quilters and without all the modern tools we have. Love that fabric line too! Thanks for sharing! Hope you are doing well! XO

I wonder if your problem has to do with a pop-up blocker issue. The next time it happens look to the far right side of your address (URL) bar to see if there's a little warning square. If you click on it, it will tell you if something is being blocked.

I like some of the vintage quilts better than the modern interpretations (sorry, Kaffe), but of all of them, I like the first one best - in both versions.!
