pinwheel disappearing nine patch quilt

Having a sort out in the stitching store room I found my disappearing nine patch blocks I made ages ago,  they have been cut up so having laid them out randomlyIsewed them together.  The only non random part was the pinwheel squares   , I had used one in each of the 20 blocks.   It went together rather well and now joins the rest waiting for quilting.

Here in the UK we have a channel create and craft,   this is where I learnt to do patchwork and Jennie Rayment one of the tutors/demonstrators plans to make a Dear Jane quilt in march with blocks made by viewers  I have made these 2   most of them are too complicated as there are no instructions in the book,  the book was bought with the idea of making the quilt but no way will I attempt this one.

I am also taking part in another mini quilt challenge.  the design
calls for applique centres but having not mastered applique yet I have used pieces of calico and will embroider the centres   the plan is to make all the minis as they are released then do the embroidery at the end but who knows maybe I might have learnt how to applique by then

I am still miffed re google,  one follower said it said there was no title or sender on my last blog so she could not read it!

This is a lovely top you´ve made. Here in Germany we don´t have such channels.

Thank you for the inspiration…..I have a stack of 9 patches I’ve been meaning to cut up…..your addition of the pinwheel blocks makes this quilt so much more interesting!!!

You're so modest about your abilities! But your work is spectacular. And it always gives me a jolt of joy to see my blog listed! Thank-you for that touch.

Your pinwheel quilt is beautiful and The Dear Jane blocks are so well done, I am sure you could make this quilt . I did it a few years ago, it is a lot of work but so pleasant.

What a cool top you've done. I've never thought about mixing the disappearing nine-patch blocks with other blocks. Works good. Your Dear Jane blocks are super, too.

It is nice to get reunited with "old friends"; it will be nice to get it quilted now :-)

Your D9P is great and the pinwheels are such a nice touch, really stand out. I like your colors of the Dear Jane blocks, so cheerful. The cross block is very interesting, too. Thanks for the tip about the home button at the bottom. It makes commenting with my iPad a lot easier. You are always turning up nice surprises. Keep up the good work!

Lovely and fun pinwheel quilt. How great to have such a channel where you can learn quilting.

love your little Dear Jane blocks. I've seen lots of those quilts over the years, lots of work go into them. I'm sure you should be able to master applique, it can be done on the machine, but I do enjoy doing it by hand

Beautiful quilt top Margaret! Google Blogger was playing up last night; I gave up trying to publish a post and retried this morning and it worked!

The Dear Jane quilt is such a great idea - it will be so cool to see how yours fit in. The embroidered centres will look great - regardless of whether you get you appliqué to a stage you're happy with! Well done.

That's a great idea for using the pinwheels, and not at all the quilt I thought I would see, from the title on the e-mail! It's gorgeous. I love your little blocks, too bad there aren't instructions for the quilt. Maybe you can find enough of the blocks on Quilter's Cache? Or someplace? The miniature series is a wonderful idea. I like your plan to embroider. That would be a great place to use some of Jenny's tiny designs, don't you think?

Your disappearing nine patch looks great with the pinwheels tucked in. I have a disappearing nine patch I started for my grandson that I need to get back to. I love the Dear Jane quilts I've seen but haven't been tempted to try one yet.

I love the idea of including pin wheels in a disappearing nine patch - I may well be borrowing this idea.

Love the D9P with pinwheels! Nice to see you're not straying too far from your signature pallet (Sp?) Of brights! It's very "modern traditionalism". Looking forward to seeing this on the flesh when you bring it to YMQ!

beautiful work again Margaret, I love the spinning wheels. I watch create and craft, they mentioned on the quilting programme that they wanted viewers to make a block each and they would join them all into a giant quilt!

I love what you have done with your nine patch. I've just put together some disappearing nine patches left over from the RSC - I wished I had seen your blog first because the pin wheels add real interest! I sometimes watch Jenny on C and C on a Sunday morning and I've taken a class with her, she is completely crackers and such fun! Your dear Jane blocks are lovely!

Your nine patch block quilt top looks lovely Margaret and so colourful. Certainly wish we had a channel like that here, especially if it had shows on felting. The 2 Dear Jane quilt blocks are beautifully done as well. Yes I have trouble with Google too sometimes.

I love your disappearing nine-patch quilt with the pinwheels in it. It looks very creative and gave you a lot of thinking how to best insert every little pinwheel. I would love that you finish it with batting and a border. It might get forgotten again.
