pin cushions,, Alfie, Orlando blocks, bag

The sewing machine has been a way the past few days as Alfie has been here,  this is an old photo but thought I would share it with you

and this is him today enjoying a bit of sun.

I have sent my latest pin cushion off for the swap   this is a bit of a cheat as I got the design from Gail Pan`s book Patchwork loves embroidery   one of my favourite books in my rather large collection.

and received a beauty from Turid in Norway   when I saw it on her blog I was all fingers and toes crossed that it was for me so you can imagine how delighted I was when it arrived the other day
.

Here is the little bag I could not find the photo of the other day when I shared the two others made from samples done in the 90`s and finally made into bags.

I have made 3 heart blocks for the Orlando quilt appeal which I will send off tomorrow.

Not made the ones for the Jo Cox quilt yet as I do not have any more white fabric for the background and the shop has had to order some so will do those ASAP. when the fabric comes

Whilst having Alfie I have caught up on doing the embroidery in the 6 mini quilts I did with Jacquelynne,  they should have had applique in but way beyond me so used some of the designs in embroidery form and drew some for the other quilts,  will share once quilted   do not hold you breath

Love your makes and Alfie is adorable xx

I like the way you get quickly involved in special bprojects such as the Orlando quilt. Does Alfie keep you off the machine because he wants to try it himself? Cats are so curious!

Cats are so adorable and do you know what I love the most? Their soft belly.

Lovely pin cushions! And what a nice bag, is it quiltet?

That pincushion swap sounds like so much fun! Glad you got the one you were hoping for. Thanks again for the heart blocks, we really appreciate it here in Orlando. Alfie is so adorable. I'm such a pushover for a cat and his cute belly!

I bought a whole bolt of solid white fabric, and I talked the shop into a 20% discount for it, and I am so glad I have it! It is so handy for so many projects. I may actually need another one soon! I love both those pincushions, and your rainbow hearts too! Stay cool. :D

Love that sweet little bird pincushion! Glad you got the one you were hoping for. That exchange is a nice idea. You certainly got. Your hearts to Orlando done quickly, a worthy cause. The pink bag is cute, glad to see the photo. Cats are wonderful to have in your home. They keep us entertained whatever they do. I still miss Popper after a year. Have a great week.

Your Alfie is exactly the same colour as markings as our first cat "Tiger". She was a stray mother cat, and we adopted her.She had 3 of the most beautiful white kittens. Mum kept one of them, and the boys went to the Animal Welfare.Tiger was my specuial cat and either sat on my lap or on my desk when I went to college as a Mature Age student.
Love your stitching too.
I LOVE pincushions, and yours is so sweet with the embroidery.

There is always so much to see on your blog. Charming cat, beautiful 'treavelling' pin cushions, nice bag and heart bocks. I hope you soon get the fabric for Jo Cox.

I especially like the hearts where the fabric goes in different directions, but they are all very nice and will be welcome, I know. That cat is so funny! Sometimes I almost think I should get a cat again, but then I remember they are work. LOL Your pincushion with the bird is just great - I don't see why that would be cheating at all! I like the one you received, too. This bag looks just as great as the other two. You almost convince me to make one again. Almost.

I really like your Orlando blocks - and the bag is stunning. Glad you found it and posted. It's also great that you got the pin cushion you had your eye on. So nice when that happens. You are still on a roll - looking forward to seeing some of the work on the Jo Cox fabric when it comes.

Alfie looks like one very relaxed cat :) I like your heart blocks are you doing the same for the Jo Cox appeal? It is nice to be able to help in some way when people have faced such devastating losses.

Alfie looks like he his very contented! Your bird pin cushion and bag are lovely . Have you made alfie a nice quilted cat basket for when he stays over!!

Love your bag and both pin cushions are wonderful. It looks as though you are having a great summer. I don't understand why you have to put away the sewing machine when the cat is around. But then again I have 3 cats and so would get nothing done if that were the case here. Plus my daughter's dog will be here for the weekend. They have a lot of fireworks by their house, and he gets very nervous. We live in a quieter area so he will be more comfortable here over 4th of July weekend.

I am late in telling you how much I like your pincushion which you sent away. The Norwegian one is beautiful, too. And I love seeing Alfie. He seems to be a rather big cat.

At last I have the time to look through all the beautiful blogs I love. Your stitched pincushion is so beautiful. I'm afraid of cats, so I can't say much about that. Have a nice and happy week, Margaret!
