Maggie`s first dance, Secret garden and 4 baby quilts

I seem to have been on a roll this week and have completed so much.  Jacquelynne Steves BOM Maggie`s first dance is now a flimsy,   so enjoyed making this but have done a different setting for the borders.  When quilted it will have red binding.  The colours not showing too well  the light one is lemon but could not photo outside due to it snowng     far too early for snow.  Would have quite liked to use the purple for the binding but did not have enough left. Unfortunately you cannot see the embroidery very well that is in 4 of the blocks  probably why I enjoyed this so much as it uses my love of embroidery with the quilting.

The second flimsy completed yesterday was Pat Sloan`s Secret garden quilt,  this is so big and the only place I could photo it was on the bed and you still cannot see it all.    The blocks are 16",   trouble finding a border fabric   not sure this one works but it is done now and the colours in it are in the blocks too,  binding will be done with the dark green that I used for the cornerstones and there is 6" green block on each corner of the 6" border fabric.

Also completed the other 4 baby quilts   all strip pieced but these 4 machine quilted   2 with diagional lines and 2 with random FMQ.   2 more babies born last week, one still not due and the 5th is now 9 months old.   Sorry cannot seem to find the photos for these.

Ebony Grace that I did the first quilt for now has a bag and cushion for her room,  Mum has decorated it with elephants so ran these up last week

Just one block done for the Blossom Hearts BOM,  block 21 is a diamond twirl  3 more and then they are all made,  not sure if I will make one big quilt or a quilt and a runner or even leave the blocks for now and add them to the 40 12" blocks I have alreday made over the last year

Today Alfie is coming to stay till tuesday as Helen is off to Ireland for  a few days with friends,  packing 24 bottles of supplementary shakes has had to get clearance from the aitrline but all is well and she can fly with them,  she is eating a little now and feeling a lot better,  has returned to work on less hours and sees the specialist on 28 nov re the surgery.

Wow you have been busy!
Not only at the machine but with the embroidery, too.

Keep up the good work!

Your Secret Garden is gorgeous, and that border fabric is perfect -- bright colours, nice large scale print. You have a very satisfying set of finishes here, great job!

Wow, Margaret, these are great. I love the navy corners on Maggie's first dance and the Secret Garden is amazing - nothing secret about it! I also love the effect of the greens in your last block. So pleased Helen is progressing so steadily.

You have outdone yourself this time, friend. Maggie's first dance is lovely. The embroidered flowers are very graceful. The red binding will finish it off perfectly. I LOVE the Secret Garden. The name should be the Bright Garden because it is so lively and colorful. The border fabric picks up the red, blue and bits of green nicely. It is sooo big. I just completed my first 16-inch block and it will be the center of a medallion sometime. One is enough right now. Snow?? We have had warm sunny autumn weather for over a week, lovely. So happy for the good news about Helen, her healing and her trip. Will continue the prayers. And for strength for you. God bless you.

You seem to be making up for lost time with all these finishes. I love the elephant cushion and bag - I'm sure lots of treasures will be put in the bag once the little one gets older.

So lovely elephant cushion and bag you've made. Reminds me of the elephant quilt I never finished. Always time to do it, though. Have a nice weekend. I will take part in a Christmas market tomorrow.

YOur Maggie's Dance is looking beautiful - a lovely fabric combination. And wow another top made - the Secret Garden does look huge - those were big blocks, looking lovely too - will it live on that bed when done? Those elephants are too cute - I bet they will be well loved! Glad to hear that Helen is doing better and is able to travel...have fun with Alfie!

You have been busy and everything looks wonderful. I especially like the items with elephants. Here many of us are hunkered down after the election and wondering what went wrong. Sewing is a bit of an escape right now.

Wonderful finishes. I love seeing Maggie's First Dance. The border looks fine to me. The elephant pieces are great additions to quilts! How thoughtful that you went right along with her decorating theme. I haven't done block 21 yet, and I don't know if I'll have the last set of six finished in time for the link up. This is as close as I've gotten to finishing a BOM this year, though! I'm glad Helen is having a getaway with friends. I can't believe it is snowing there. We'll be in the 70s the next two days and then drop to the 50s, but nary a sign of snow predicted. We haven't even hit freezing at night yet. So unusual for November.
