sewing caddy

This is a sewing caddy i made last week,  I got the pattern through the Yorkshire Modern Quilters Group I go to,   and have just put in "sewing caddy tutorial" into the search engine    guess what the tutorial appeared so if any one wants to have a go they can find the pattern.  I found it quite easy to do but for some reason the lining bottom seems a bit big,   the group made these at a meeting I could not attend and have since heard one or two others had the same problem. For my first go I was quite pleased and Helen has decided she should have it, unfortunately one of her friends is also after one along with Catherine and no doubt Sal my granddaughter too,  I think they want to use them for their hair dryers, straighteners etc.

The original pattern puts the pockets on the inside of the bag but I have mine on the outside, front and back and one on the inside.  Will use a plain colour for the lining the next one I do.

I found this in my kitchen cupboard the other day.

It is a sweet potato!!!  Unlike an ordinary potato it did not go slimy or smelly, I was amazed when I cut it open feel it should inspire me to be creative,   any ideas?  The photo is in a folder called inspiration  along with a few other things that have caught my eye.  Wish I had found the tomatoes I bought over 2 weeks ago! they are on the receipt but not in the house, I must have left them on the checkout

Lots of people I follow have asked me to join google+ but I do not know anything about it, what I have read says it means everyone can see what I write, is that just on the blogs or on flickr and in my emails and everywhere else?  any advice would be good as I am a bit wary of it, so if you wonder why I have not responded that is why, I need to know more about it.  Many thanks

That looks like a very handy bag, sounds like you will need to set up a production line :)

I haven't joined Google + as I know that it can change your status to a no-reply blogger and I have enough problems keeping up with everything as it is!

Bag looks great like the idea of more pockets on the outside so much easier to see. Not on google+ so cannot help there.

Great bag, Margaret. Looks as if you have a few more in the pipeline. I like it when people like something I have made enough to ask for one. I use Google+ to share photos with family and close friends. I don't like it much as it takes care to control the privacy setting - it isn't very intuitive. I don't use it to share news but it is useful for photos.

Lovely bag, and I can see you'll be making more of them, with the demand around you!

I ignore Google plus totally, because it first demands all sorts of info I'm not prepared to hand over just in order to post on another person's blog. If they want my post, they should make it easy! There, my 2c.

What a lovely bag! No wonder everyone wants it!! I will look up the pattern. I don't know what to say about the potato sorry! lol I joined google+ because I thought the friend connect was no longer available, but then I found it. I have not done anything with the google+. Can you delete it?

Your bag is gorgeous Margaret, I'm not surprised it is proving very populat at your place! I avoid google+ as it asks for too much detail, also it seemed to muck up my settings on my blog.

Rebecca I think you can change back to google by ticking a box somewhere on your dashboard! (Sorry not terribly helpful, but I do know you can do it as I changed back too).

Well done, you bag looks great!
A girl can never have enough bags :-)
As for the technical stuff - I am keeping with Google for now. Since somebody stole my blog, I am more careful.

Great sewing caddy - smart enough for a party!
There are many things you can do with that sweet potato except eating it!

Such pretty fabrics on your caddy! Now you'll have to make more for everyone, and I'm not surprised they're queuing up for one. I am on google+ and use it for following some blogs and for group connections (like a gelli plate group) but not for much.
I was thinking the sweet potato might make a great ink/paint/dye print for a while.

No no don't join Google+! It's just Google trying to take over. It will turn you into a no rep,ly blogger, when people click on your comme ts on blogs it will take them to your G+ page so they can't find your blog and if you install G+ comments, no e G+ members won't ge able to comment on your blog. It's also totally pointless! Love the sewing caddy....

A nice little bag Margaret with lots of uses.I am on Google, you can publish what you put on your blog for people to see on Google, flickr or anything else will not be seen. It is just another way of connecting more people.

Lovely bag and I can see why they are so desired by all your girls. I know nothing about Google + even though I am on it. Computers baffle me!

Your basket is so cute. I can see you will be busy making these for all your family.

Your bag is absolutely wonderful - I could imagine to make it - because I have not enough yet -- big laughter - I will go to google it. And the potatoe - simply gorgeous - good that it does not smell - for other rotten potatoes can be horrible.
