Alfie in quilt heaven, baby quilt

Not much to share this week but must show you how Alfie loves his quilt. The butterfly quilt I made for Helen is on the back of the couch,  I did point out to her it as upside down!

I think this shows his contentment

Now it is bedtime so rather than disturb him Helen has made an envelope of the quilt and she carried him up to bed,   he just loves this pampering and when I called the next day he was still on his quilt

I have been making 5 baby quilts from strips I cut from child friendly fabrcis, I got in a bit of a muddle as I took my featherweight to the Leeds quilting group and  I  sewed the strips together there   they got rather tangled but all was well in the end. I use the jelly roll technique joining the narrow ends together of all the strips and then doubling over 4 times, this gave me 4 quilts but they were a bit wide so was able to make a 5th by cutting off 2 fabrics from each quilt.  They are now all prepared for quilting and have started on the first one,  it is for a friend of Helen`s and she asked for assorted sized circles scattered about and these I am hand quilting,  fingers crossed the pencils circles will wash out okay on completion.

Alfie all wrapped in his quilt is the cutest picture. It makes me want to cuddle him myself. What a perfect gift for him and for Helen. Wish we could see Helen's quilt. The colors look so restful and pretty. Good going on those strip quilts. I would be afraid to get caught and knotted up in the strips. Love your cute fabrics. Keep up the good work!.

Alfie is clearly one adored cat and satisfied with his life lol lovely quilts both!
I must try that jelly roll method but did you stitch just the short 2.5" ends together and not the full length strip sides together?
I cut some strips from some lengths I unearthed and realised my straight line cuts -
are as straight as a donkeys back leg - as my Gran used to say LOL
So when I get round to doing something with them they will skew whiff jelly roll strip quilt design lol

Hows your daughter now by the way?
: )

Alfie clearly loves having his own quilt. Just the right size and with embroidered cats on it. Lucky boy.

Allie is truly a contented cat and I adore cats. Five baby quilts at once is amazing. And that you are hand quilting just makes those quilts all the more special. Autumn Blessings Dear.

Alfie looks so content, just like he's in heaven!

Smart way to make several baby quilts at a time.

There are so many variations on those strip quilts - it's hard not to love them all. I hope the quilting and washing turns out as you hope.
