I said no more projects as I already have a list longer than my arm and longer than I will ever get to complete when what happens along comes Women of the Bible a free BOM from little quilts.com and I find I have signed up to do this too. The first two blocks have been posted Eve and Rachel and what I love about this is they tell you about the women the block is named after so interesting to read. I plan to download all the blocks as they come on line and make the quilt in 2015, I find this easier than doing a block as they appear and I can place my fabrics better this way. If anyone is interested I think it might close soon and you only have a short period of time to download the block before it is removed. Her is a picture of what it is all about
I have also started the spiders web quilt with Pat Broe from life in the scrapatch, this is just a quickie, we did part of it yesterday and the next bit is to do is the black curves, I have got the right template for this so hoping all will go well. It uses 80 2.5" squares and fortunately I had lots left over from my steps to the Altar quilt so no new cutting to do. Was going to share a photo of what Pat`s looks like but don`t know how to do that. Oh yes I think there is a photo of the quilt on my blog on the right hand side with all the BOM`s etc, dare not look as I will probably lose this epistle.
I have also become a great aunt again, the ages go from 18 down to a couple of weeks and Katie has said she would like a quilt made with lemon, cream and green pastels, still trying to find the fabric but whilst in one shop they showed me a baby panel which was only £2 so bought it and have quilted it by hand and will give it to Katie but will also make what she requested when I track down suitable fabric.
Now for my big spend, this computer is going so slow it is nearly going backwards and has crashed a few times recently so today I have bought a laptop, well a baby one, the screen is only 11" but it should be okay and means I can use it all over the house, that is when I pluck up the courage to open up the box, maybe my youngest brother from Sheffield will come soon and he could help me. I was served by the assistant manager of the store and he took me to the till then gave a code to the operator and went away, the operator said it was my lucky day as he was giving me a free external hard drive for backup how lucky am I, I use memory sticks at the moment and have 4 and needed to buy another so now will not have to. Wonder how long it will be before I can use the new one next year probably!

I think you have the right idea about BOM, it is much easier to plan your fabrics when you know what it is all about.
You have great plans. Your babyquilt is beautiful.
I love your works and I like your spiderweb.
Nana
I also like to wait until the end of the BOM, so I can see how it all works together, before I start. For me, it's a lot easier!
Your spiderweb is looking great!
Love your new block of the month!
If you need to borrow my computer geek son to set up your laptop please let me know! It's half term next week so not a problem!
I can see why you were seduced by the Women of the Bible quilt - a great idea. The spider web looks good. Getting someone to help with your computer setup will make it a pleasanter experience. I have no doubt you can do it alone - but why not reduce the stress and speed the process?
Congrats on winning the hard drive. That will be nice. Also, love the idea of the bible quilt. We can always learn more (or at least for me:) and the fact that it is a BOM makes it so much more do-able.
Have a great weekend.
I will definitely check out the Women of the Bible BOM, sounds interesting. Very cute baby quilt. Good luck with the new computer.
Sometimes we find a project that just speaks to us and we cannot ignore it. I like your idea to download now and create later so the fabrics are cohesive. Congratulations on the newest niece. You will be using your new laptop in no time! Creative Bliss My Friend...
you sure are busy with all those projects. computers are pretty easy to set up these days. usually come with step by step instructions. i have set up every computer i've had since the 1980s....i think....and they are super easy now. give it a try.
You are going to be busy! Congratulations on the new arrival, and enjoy planning the quilt
That BOM and the block are fab! Well done on taking the plunge on the laptop - I'm sure you'll love it once you get the hang of it! I'm still usingn a PC (aided by an iPad ) But husband is geek enough he can do things to upgrade the pc when the rubber band wears out!!!!! I think it's a bit like Trigger's broom from only fools and horses ... 15 years old, but it's had 6 new heads and ten new handles!
The Women of the Bible quilt should be very interesting to do, and I like your spiderweb block!
Thanks for the info on the BOM. I just signed up for the newsletter. Like you, I think I'll wait and see what the various blocks will be before I make any. More than likely, I'll just pick and choose which blocks to make instead of the entire quilt.
The spiderweb makes my head spin with all the work involved. Good for you for getting a new computer and for the added bonus of a backup for the hard drvie...of course like you I would need some help in getting everything set up!
xo,
Deb
Oh, oh, new computer! You will be happy with it ....when it will finally be installed. Lovely colours of the spider web. Of course you are tempted by the BOM project - it sounds so interesting to get to know about the Bibles women - and you will certainly work it off your list - I am sure - and we will be able to admire it .....
Congrats on the new computer! I had a giggle at your old computer going so slow it was going backward 😄
Love the spider web quilt . The baby quilt is lovely too
It is hard to say no to a new project! I am sure you will enjoy making the Women of the Bible quilt in 2015.
Hopefully your new computer will soon be installed and make life easier for you so you can spend more time on quilting rather than sorting out frozen computer screens.
You have been so busy great to hear you have got your laptop.
Looking forward to watching your progress on the BOM, Margaret! Love the baby quilt. Very sweet! And congrats on the new lap top!
Get that new computer out and use it!!! You will be so happy you did!
Great idea to plan your new quilt for next year, it will give you time to think about your fabrics. Hope you'll be friends with your new laptop soon!
You are a wonder - love all the new plans!
Thanks! I have belonged to a Women of the Bible quilt and study group for at least 5 years now and not made a single block, but this one I might do. LOL Love your post - sounds so much like me! The laptop will be so easy to use, you will wonder how you ever got by without it. I don't even have any other computer any more. What a lucky deal to get the free external hard drive! Backups will be so easy!

Like the idea of the greys and black and white for the quilt...very modern colours. I am sure you will come up with so e great choices for the design.
Congrats on the new arrival ...the little quilt is cute.
Just go for it with the laptop. Did it come with the operating system all installed. You will fi d the external hard drive a boon. Good luck with it.
Polly is to the left of the black box, down a bit from the gate. You're not the only one that couldn't find her.

Thank you for the details of the BOM - I've just signed up, but I might be asking for the first two blocks from you once you've got your new laptop set up. If you want to bring it to Leeds MQG I can help you install the free Quilt Assistant software.
All your projects look fun, your little baby quilt is so cute. Good luck setting up your computer, these things always look confusing at the start but once you are up and running you will be ok!
I haven't seen a spiderweb block made with little blocks...I like the idea.
Your projects are beautiful Margaret. You are very brave to tackle so many things at once. I would be cowering under the couch with so much piecing ... ha ha ha! Thanks for stopping by the blog earlier and for your sweet comment. Take Care! Karen
The spiderweb block looks great. My computer too had crashed two years back and I got a new laptop which I thought would be difficult to figure out initially but it was not.So go ahead and give it a try Margaret.. you might end up surprising yourself :-)
Your spider web is looking good, Margie! I just saw the photo of the top in the Flickr album. Thanks for sharing ... :) Pat
Really?? No more projects.....now you know that thought will never stick......
Terrific projects you've got going! I love the Spiderweb.
Now this quilt looks very interesting, and I agree, I find it easier to wait until I have everything to start a new project, although that doesn't guarantee I will finish it, lol. I have just become a great aunt as well and be a second time in january, but I am not ambitious enough to offer to make quilts for them. Where do you find the time? You are pretty amazing at getting things done!
