tast catch up

Today I have made an effort to complete the tast for 2012.   I am posting 4 stitches. week 48 arrowhead stitch I did a few weeks ago but neglected to post and have now done week 49 buttonhole eyelet flower    a very mean offering, I usually love bullion stitches but struggled here, now think it was because the fabric I had dyed was too stiff and thick   well that is my excuse anyway! The the needle and thread was very difficult to pull through the cloth. Week 50  berry stitch, two flowers here and the brown piece is meant to be a dog, maybe if you screw up your eyes a bit a dog might emerge! Week 51 knotted cable chain stitch, this I have done with 4 different threads, the wool one is cascade yarns,  green perle cotton and two troublesome rayon type threads,   have not mastered the technique with these they are so slippery, the perle is my favourite thread followed closely by flower thread which I am loath to use as it is no longer available so saving for special projects!!

arrowhead stitch,   sorry photo not central or straight.

knotted cable chain,  berry stitch and buttonhole eyelet stitch.
I hope to more stitches when the tast starts again and take the stitches further than I have done before, very much a rushed job at times apologies for not doing them justice.

Lovely Margaret, and you have been so good keeping up with the samples. I faded away a long time ago, just lost interest I guess, or moved on to other things. I love your arrowhead stitch, and I too find rayon threads a challenge. Take care.

It is so good to see you stitching again! The arrowhead sampler is great. Did you use batik for the other stitches? That is a stiff fabric and not easy to make bullions on. I can spot your cute dog easily! Keep up the good work, Margaret.
All the best for a great 2013.

Arrowhead stitch is just lovely - very inspiring. The colours are great.

The dog is as clear as clear - but stiff is very hard to work with. Good on you for giving it a good go.

Congratulations for finishing all the TAST stitches! It certainly was a terrific learning experience. Your arrowhead piece is very nicely done as well as the other four. :)

Hello! You left a comment on sawdust on Fiberluscious and I would love to know more about your experience with it. I'll be sure to add it to my post! I've never used it.
I also joined CQJP for the first time and love TAST but never seem to have the time to do more than a few practice stitches.
Please come to my blog often and maybe we can do something together to promote our month crazy quilt blocks. How fun!

I hoping to get started on TAST too, Margaret, I just haven't exactly decided how. I have so many projects to make that could use plenty of embroidery that I hate to just make samplers. lol Thanks for following my blog; I'm going to try to keep it more current this year. Last year was nearly a complete loss blog-wise because of all the unexpected, elder-care issues that cropped up.

Take care,
Susan in Texas

Hello Margaret, just a quick thank you for your lovely comments about my wallhanging, I am sure you will enjoy CQJP 2013 and I am quite a beginner as far as crazy quilting is concerned but I love doing it, I feel that my imagnation needs to be a bit more adventurous but I am getting there.

Very nice sampler. I could imagine it repeated few more times and stitched as the borders of some tablecloth.
